Release Blitz & Review! The Silent Waters (The Element Series Bk 3) – Brittainy C. Cherry
Moments. Our lives are a collection of moments. Some utterly painful and full of yesterday’s hurts. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow’s promises.
I’ve had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones—the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones—all included him.
I was ten years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories.
This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn’t love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises.
(Book Three in the Elements Series. Complete Standalone.)
I almost forgot how heart wrenching Brittainy C. Cherry books can be. I felt so unprepared as I went into this book because, it was painful and beautiful all at the same time. I completely broke down at certain parts and was crying like a baby. This story was incredible, I felt constantly on edge when reading it. Waiting for something to happen, waiting for love, for fights, for words, for confronting your fears. And when something I was waiting for happened, I was completely relieved!
The love story of Brooks and Maggie is a long one, as well as beautiful, funny, and uncertain at times. Mostly it’s perfect, a romance worth fighting for, and the struggle was so real. When they’re 10 years old Maggie suffers a traumatic experience leaving her mute and afraid to go outside the comfort of her home, Brooks is there to be her anchor. Literally gives her an anchor necklace as a symbol of how much he’s going to be there for her. And he is, over the next 18 years, he was there in whatever way she needed him and you just fall in love with him for that alone. So all of the other things he does makes you swoon for him so much you can’t imagine loving a character more than that. And Maggie! Oh my goodness, she is the most fiery girl who is battling her demons away every day of her life. Trying to deal with what is happening to her family around her, knowing that she has caused it due to her inability to speak, leave her house and having panic attacks. This sounds harsh saying she caused it, because obviously she didn’t ask to become mute and agoraphobic, but things like this have a way of affecting family ties. Sometimes strengthening them, and sometimes weakening them. No matter what happened in her home, Brooks was there for her in any way he could be.
The supporting characters were amazing, whether they had a large part in this book or a small one, I loved them all in different ways. Again, this book was tough, which I half expected since I’ve read books from the amazing Miss Cherry before, but it seriously made me cry and sad for Maggie and Brooks at times and so incredibly happy for them at the same time. I’m still really glad I read it, I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! Brittany C. Cherry is definitely one of my top ten authors. Thank you for this amazing story!
